Biography:

Prof. Yongdong Li was born in Hebei province, China in 1962. He has received Bachelor’s Degree from Department of Electrical Engineering of Harbin Institute of Technology in 1982, and Ms. Degree and Ph.D in 1984, 1987 respectively from Department of Electrical Engineering and Automation of Institut National Polytechnique de Toulouse, France. He was a post-doctor from 1988 to 1990 and became a full professor since 1996 in the Department of Electrical Engineering of Tsinghua University. From June to Dec. of 1996, he was a visiting professor in VPEC of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, United States. His research interests include high voltage power electronic converters and their applications in variable speed drives for energy saving, digital control, sensor-less drives of AC motors and their applications in NC machine-tools, traction drives for high speed train and propulsion drives for ships, renewable energy generation, like wind, solar...etc. He’s accomplished several NSF projects and lot of other projects with success, e.g. the first industry standard high power multilevel inverter in China, 1.5 Megawatt DFIG for wind generation…etc. He’s got the honors of “Delta Scholar” in 2003, “Tianshan Scholar” in 2013, and “Excellent Professor and Good Friend” of students of Tsinghua University several times.

Prof. Kun Yang, University of Essex, UK

Distinguished Member (DM) of ACM, IEEE, IET Fellow

Biography:

Prof. Kun Yang is a Member of Academia Europaea (MAE), a Fellow of IEEE, a Fellow of IET (Institute of Engineering and Technology), a Fellow of BCS (British Computing Society) and a Distinguished Member (DM) of ACM.

He received his PhD degree from University College London (UCL) in the area of communication networks and services. After 3 years' post-doc research in the Department of EEE at UCL working on EU research projects such as FAIN (Future Active IP Networks), MANTRIP and CONTEXT, he moved to University of Essex at 2003 to become an academic staff. Now he is a Chair Professor in the School of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering (CSEE), University of Essex, leading the Network Convergence Laboratory (NCL).

His research activities are focused on advancing new technologies related to communication and network systems, and on the fundamentals underlying them, including communication theory, algorithms, network science, machine learning and edge intelligence. In particular I am interested in energy aspects of future communication systems such as 6G, promoting energy self-sustainability via both energy efficiency (green communications and networking) and energy harvesting (wireless charging).

Prof. Zhe Chen, Aalborg University, Denmark

Biography:

Prof. Zhe Chen (Fellow, IEEE) received his Ph.D. degree in Power and Control, from University of Durham, England, he has been a full Professor with the Department of Energy Technology, Aalborg University, Denmark since 2002.

Professor Chen is the leader of Wind Power System Research program at the Department of Energy Technology, Aalborg University. His main current research interests are wind energy, power electronics, power system and modern energy systems. He has led many international and national research projects and has more than 800 technical publications. He is a panel member and a review expert for many international funding organizations.

Prof. Chen is a member of editor boards of many international journals, including Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, Subject Editor (wind turbine control) of IET Renewable Power Generation, Editor-in-Chief of MDPI Wind, etc. He is a Fellow of IET, a Chartered Engineer in the U.K., a Fellow of IEEE, a member of Danish Academy of Technical Sciences.
